How Does Your Home Rank?
At Hassler, we believe that helping our customers gain a better understanding as to how energy efficient their homes are is one of the most important parts of our job. This is why we offer an easy to understand Home Energy Score between 1-10 after evaluating the home, which will give you the information you need to understand exactly where your home sits in terms of energy efficiency and home performance.
The Process
The process of obtaining a home energy score is simple. An assessor will collect approximately 40 piece of data during an hour-long walkthrough of your home. This data is then entered into a Home Energy Scoring tool, developed by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, which will generate a score and list of recommendations regarding home performance upgrades you could benefit from considering. The score falls between 1 and 10, with a score of 1 indicating that the home is in need of dramatic work, and a score of 10 indicating true home performance.
Once you have your customized home energy score, you'll be able to compare it to other homes nationwide in order to see where you stand. To learn more about home energy score check out Energy.gov.
